This information was updated 1/22/2022

Information about each project within the Researcher Workbench is available in the Research Projects Directory below. Approved researchers provide their project’s research purpose, description, populations of interest, and more. This information helps All of Us ensure transparency on the type of research being conducted.

At this time, all listed projects are using data in the Registered Tier. The Registered Tier contains individual-level data from electronic health records, surveys, physical measurements, and wearables. Personal identifiers have been removed from these data to protect participant privacy.

Note: Researcher Workbench users provide information about their research projects independently. Views expressed in the Research Projects Directory belong to the relevant users and do not necessarily represent those of the All of Us Research Program. Information in the Research Projects Directory is also cross-posted on AllofUs.nih.gov in compliance with the 21st Century Cures Act.

Heart Failure Genomics

1) Identification of genetic determinant of heart failure and cardiomyopathies 2) Assessment of interaction between the genetic determinants and environmental factors in the development of heart failure and cardiomyopathies 3) Assessment of personalized approaches for the screening, prevention, and treatment…

Scientific Questions Being Studied

1) Identification of genetic determinant of heart failure and cardiomyopathies
2) Assessment of interaction between the genetic determinants and environmental factors in the development of heart failure and cardiomyopathies
3) Assessment of personalized approaches for the screening, prevention, and treatment of heart diseases

Project Purpose(s)

  • Disease Focused Research (cardiovascular diseases)
  • Population Health
  • Ancestry

Scientific Approaches

Exploratory Analysis:
Baseline characteristics assessment stratified by the presence of biological and/or social determinants of health
Association Analyses:
-Examination of the association of genetic, clinical, demographic, and social factors with adverse cardiovascular outcomes such as heart failure, cardiomyopathies, death due to cardiac causes, and all-cause mortality
Statistical tests:
Descriptive statistics (Wilcoxon/Mann Whitney U test; T-test, Chi-square test)
Logistic regression
Linear Regression
Quantile-quantile regression
Cox regression analysis

Anticipated Findings

-Identify the biological determinants for the development of heart failure and cardiomyopathy
-Identify interactions between genetic determinants and environmental factors on the risk of developing heart diseases. This will help us understand if the behavioral or environmental factors can influence the biological determinants of heart diseases
-Help to identify novel therapeutic approaches (pharmacological and non-pharmacological) for the prevention and treatment of heart diseases such as heart failure and cardiomyopathies.

Demographic Categories of Interest

This study will not center on underrepresented populations.
