Scientific Questions Being Studied

At this point the goal is to explore the available data on patients with Parkinson's disease (PD). PD is the second most common neurodegenerative disease and has a profound impact on the lives of patients and their families.

Scientific Approaches

Unknown, this is a test to see what data is available. If possible we would like to evaluate characteristics of PD patients by current medication status or disease duration.

Anticipated Findings

Unknown, we are hoping to learn more about the available data. Previous research has found that the majority of PD patients treated with levodopa for more than 5 years develop dyskinesia. Depending on the information available we could further characterize patients who do and do not develop dyskinesias during this timeframe to search for possible protective factors and risk factors.

Demographic Categories of Interest

This study will not center on underrepresented populations.
