Scientific Questions Being Studied

We intend to provide the All of Us program's resources/information to the NIDCD's DSP staff meeting. We hope to develop a foundation for the DSP to determine what type of funding mechanism can be employed to help the extramural community using this database.

Project Purpose(s)

  • Other Purpose (To explore the available data within the National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders (NIDCD) missionary areas. This will help the Division of Scientific Programs (DSP) at NIDCD select and propose the optimal funding mechanism for the extramural community utilizing the database. )

Scientific Approaches

We will search for and compile a list of data variables within NIDCD missionary areas. We will begin with the domain of hearing loss and get familiar with the database and then move to other areas.

Anticipated Findings

1. We will try to develop a data dictionary to guide our extramural researchers using the database.
2. We will provide the complete picture of the available data within the NIDCD missionary areas and determine what type of funding mechanism can be employed.

Demographic Categories of Interest

This study will not center on underrepresented populations.
