Epidemiology of Inflammatory Skin Conditions v6

We are interested in studying the epidemiology of inflammatory skin conditions and diseases associated with inflammatory skin conditions.

Scientific Questions Being Studied

We are interested in studying the epidemiology of inflammatory skin conditions and diseases associated with inflammatory skin conditions.

Project Purpose(s)

  • Disease Focused Research (Inflammatory skin diseases)

Scientific Approaches

We will use the All of Us dataset to describe the epidemiology of inflammatory skin conditions across racial/ethnic and age groups. We will use association testing to determine which diseases and conditions are associated with inflammatory skin conditions.

Anticipated Findings

We hope to better describe the burden of inflammatory skin conditions among different racial/ethnic and age groups and we hope to show novel associations between inflammatory skin conditions and other diseases including cardiovascular disease, autoimmune disease, and metabolic disease. These data will help improve the treatment of inflammatory skin diseases.

Demographic Categories of Interest

This study will not center on underrepresented populations.

Scientific Questions Being Studied

I intend to explore the data regarding interstitial lung diseases with a goal of distinguishing across different interstitial lung diseases that may present very similarly (e.g. with usual interstitial pattern on high-resolution CT imaging). The goal is to understand the epidemiology of these diseases as well as investigate any lab values that distinguish these diseases.

Project Purpose(s)

  • Disease Focused Research (interstitial lung disease)

Scientific Approaches

The dataset would include all patients who are diagnosed with interstitial lung diseases. I will try to describe epidiomelogical findings of these diseases as well as any disease-specific differences among interstitial lung diseases. I will use R to answer these questions.

Anticipated Findings

I anticipate that there are disease-specific differences separating different interstitial lung diseases that may stem from different lab values, such as complete blood count and other blood lab tests.

Demographic Categories of Interest

This study will not center on underrepresented populations.
