Scientific Questions Being Studied

I plan to study the concerns of and barriers to healthcare that individuals with genetic conditions, broadly, face and overcome. This is important because the identification of obstacles that underrepresented populations face will open the door for change to make genetic healthcare more accessible and equitable.

Project Purpose(s)

  • Population Health

Scientific Approaches

I plan to review the surveys filled out by patients that have a genetic condition to identify any trends between concerns about access to and utilization of health care and social determinants of health.

Anticipated Findings

The goal is to identify the barriers and concerns that individuals have in order to identify and propose areas that healthcare providers can improve on to support all patients.

Demographic Categories of Interest

This study will not center on underrepresented populations.
