COVID-19 Health Disparity

We are interested in whether susceptibility, hospitalization, and severity for COVID-19 differ between racial and ethnic groups, and why.

Scientific Questions Being Studied

We are interested in whether susceptibility, hospitalization, and severity for COVID-19 differ between racial and ethnic groups, and why.

Project Purpose(s)

  • Population Health

Scientific Approaches

Dataset: All of Us v4
We will model the data with logistic regression and structural equation modeling.

Anticipated Findings

We anticipate to find that socioeconomic, comorbidities (e.g. Type 2 Diabetes, Coronary Artery Disease), and lifestyle factors largely explain differential COVID-19 phenotypes between racial groups, rather than intrinsic racial differences.

Demographic Categories of Interest

  • Race / Ethnicity
