We are evaluating differences in the demographics of subpopulation of participants and differences in EHR indicators of certain diseases and self reported outcomes.

Scientific Questions Being Studied

We are evaluating differences in the demographics of subpopulation of participants and differences in EHR indicators of certain diseases and self reported outcomes.

Project Purpose(s)

  • Population Health
  • Social / Behavioral
  • Educational

Scientific Approaches

We will be using demographic information from the Basic, Family History, Lifestyle, Personal Medical History, Overall Health, and Healthcare access and utilization surveys. We will also be using EHR data to understand incidence of cardiovascular disease and stroke among different subgroups of the population. EHR data will be compared with patient reported outcomes.

Anticipated Findings

We will elucidate differences in demographic characteristics of participants completing various surveys. Use of the data without recognition of these differences could lead to biased conclusions. Understanding the correspondence between patient reported outcomes and EHR data will contribute to the use of patient reported outcomes.

Demographic Categories of Interest
